The NCL program: Philanthropic, Cultural, Educational and Leadership

National Charity League, Inc. is comprised of over 128 chapters in 15 states nationwide.  Our organization is the only mother-daughter volunteer force of its kind serving local communities.  Each chapter of National Charity League, Inc. encompasses a four-prong approach and includes philanthropic, educational, leadership and cultural components.  Chapters consider the local community’s needs and select philanthropies to support.  Support is provided through the donation of time and organizational skills .

Members are mothers with daughters in grades seven through twelve who indicate an interest in and commitment to community service, leadership development and cultural experiences.  Educational activities are designed to teach daughters to be self-assured young women in today’s society, to demonstrate good manners, to respect others and to develop leadership skills.  Cultural Events help members develop community awareness and cultural sensitivity.

In order to join National Charity League, Inc. and the Heritage Oaks Chapter, women and their daughters must be sponsored by current NCL, Inc. members in good standing and be compatible with the chapter members. Membership requires a commitment of time, service and financial obligations.

Heritage Oaks History

While there are several National Charity League Chapters in the Bay Area, the number of mothers and their daughters interested in NCL continues to grow.  For that reason, Heritage Oaks was formed in 2004 as a prospective chapter.  We moved to provisional chapter status in 2005 and became a fully chartered chapter in February 2006.

Prospective members must reside or attend school in Saratoga, Los Gatos, Monte Sereno, Campbell, Santa Clara or Cupertino; or attend Harker, Old Orchard, Presentation HS, Archbishop Mitty HS, St. Francis HS or Notre Dame HS.  Heritage Oaks has over 200 members dedicated to serving those in need through our designated philanthropic organizations.
